Meet-And-Greet Temperament Evaluation

Before joining our daycare, each dog is required to attend a brief meet-and-greet temperament evaluation. This visit allows our trained staff to observe your dog’s behavior, play style, and social interactions in a controlled environment.

The goal is to ensure every dog is comfortable, well-mannered, and a good fit for our group setting. During the evaluation, we look at how your dog responds to new people, other dogs, and basic handling. This process helps us create safe playgroups, reduce stress, and provide the best possible experience for all dogs in our care.

This is not a pass-or-fail test. It’s simply a way for us to get to know your dog and make sure we set them up for success. If any concerns are identified, we’ll discuss them with you and determine the best next steps.

Our priority is a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment—for your dog and every dog here.

Medical Requirements

-Rabies Vaccination

All dogs must have a valid rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian. Initial rabies vaccinations must be given according to state law, with boosters kept current (typically every 1 or 3 years, depending on the vaccine).

Timing Requirement:
Rabies vaccination must be administered at least 7 days prior to your dog’s first daycare visit.

Why This Is Required:
Rabies is a fatal disease that poses a risk to both animals and humans. Maintaining current rabies vaccinations protects our staff and dogs and ensures compliance with New York State regulations.

-Distemper Vaccination (DHPP/DAPP)

Requirement:
Dogs must be vaccinated against canine distemper as part of the DHPP/DAPP vaccine series.

Timing Requirement:
The distemper vaccine must be up to date and administered at least 7 days prior to your dog’s first daycare visit. Puppies must have completed the appropriate age-based vaccine series as recommended by their veterinarian.

Why This Is Required:
Distemper is a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening illness that spreads easily in group settings. Proper vaccination significantly reduces the risk of transmission and protects the daycare population.

-Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Vaccination

Requirement:
All dogs must have a current Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination.

Timing Requirement:
Bordetella must be administered at least 7 days prior to attendance and kept current per veterinary guidance (typically every 6 or 12 months, depending on the vaccine type).

Why This Is Required:
Kennel cough spreads quickly in environments where dogs interact closely. Requiring this vaccine helps prevent outbreaks and protects dogs from respiratory illness.

-Spay & Neuter Policy

Requirement:
All dogs over six (6) months of age must be spayed or neutered.

Timing Requirement:
Proof of spay or neuter must be provided prior to enrollment or continued attendance once the dog reaches six months of age.

Why This Is Required:
Spaying and neutering reduces hormone-driven behaviors such as aggression, mounting, and marking, allowing for safer group play and a calmer daycare environment.
